Post  Hizumi on Fri Jul 29, 2011 12:39 pm

Name: Caraedry
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 9.11, 21 years old
Birth place: Frostback Mountains Area
Hair colour: Light Blond
Eye colour: Blue-Grey/ Pale Blue
Physical description: Caraedry, at first glance seems to be your most standard noblemen. Standing around 6’1, he has a medium, yet well toned muscle built. Pronounced cheekbones, with a somewhat powerful jaw look. His eyes show determination, with a haunting history behind them. His shoulder length hair, lightly hanging down, though from the look of it, it stands to be fairly well maintained.

His armor seems to reflect the light quite brightly, its silver color not being the most outstanding feature of it. It seems to contain many markings leaded into the metal itself. There color, being black, making them even more distinct in the armor. Though this tends to stand at his breast plate. He bares a cloak, made of cotton and the furs of wolves on his shoulders.

His gauntlets though, once shown seem menacing. The Arm bands layered with curved like talons, and the knuckles with 3 others. Seem that they are designed for combat, stopping blades of sorts, or just to aid in gashing the others of combat.

His boots, seem to have fur covering the metal underneath, leading to the leather foot tipped as well with the silver like steel, spiked forward. Though the cruel thing being, the light step in his footing. He is barely heard by many people as he “floats” across the world.

When not embodied in his armor, he wears a black and white style clothing. The style of clothing followed by most of the noblemen of Redcliff and Denerim. On his hand a ring with 2 like demonic looking faces on each side, their “crowns” holding a blue like gem between them. He wears no necklaces. His hair is fashioned down, as it is when he is in his armor.

Class: Warrior
Specialisation: Reaver, Two-handed
Prominent skills/spells:

Devour - Following his deal with a demon. He has learned to consume the blood of living beings, or near living at least. The dead are also not a past sight. His blood addiction, drives him to intake their blood. Allowing him to “heal” his wounds.

Shattering Blows - The Armor of Caraedry, along with his weapon seems to be designed to destroy the armor and weapons of his opponents. Allowing him to damage armor, and weapons alike.

Mighty Blow - Putting extra strength behind his blows, he can severely damage his opponents, to the point of even minorly disorienting them.

Light Footed - While he’s in heavy armor, or in just standard cloth, he walks silently. Though not as masterful as a skilled thief in stealth. It is still fairly hard to detect him on sound alone.

Occupation: Wanderer

Biography

Caraedry was probably one of the less fortunate of the humans in the world. He was born, in the frostback mountains, to a tribe of Avvars, lost and forgotten in time. The Avvars were once the main forms in this land, of the 3 tribe types. Though they decided to reside in the frostback mountains, threw the ever changing ways, they too followed this path. His tribe was known to use different forms of healing magic, though this standing as it was, they would have to move about. Nothing was ever really stable in the life of an Avvar, so this wasn’t something that managed to damage his tribe much at all. He was taught, at a young age how to fight. This was because his father viewed that he would make a pretty good warrior. He showed signs of it. Though like all things, it wasn’t always going to be this way.

The Tribe was pretty distant from pretty much anything and anyone, though they practiced magic and did trade a bit with merchants that passed threw, they knew not of the dangers that magic itself held. Only were they brought up by horrors that such things could happen, when a magic user lost control. They were not fully prepared for the ideas of demons, though they weren’t ones to want to make contracts anyways, for most cases nothing lasted in their view. To top it off, the healers would refrain themselves from telling others of his clan about such things. So not to impose on them.

At a young age his tribe was moving threw a path in the Frostback Mountains, it was a cut threw in the forest. They set up camp, to rest for the night. The cold chill that flew threw the land seemed to tell of the event that was to come. The call of the dead, ever so high. Caraedry looked to his father. His father was a wise man, but even his own wisdom would not save him from this fate.

The sound came out from the night, the haunting screams of those being slaughtered and controlled. His father stood up, his plate mail, designed to disrupt and destroy the armor of his enemies, The call was sent, Those who lived took up arms. Charging forward, though the cries heard shortly after few clashes could tell the true story of what was happening. Demonic like sounds were being heard, echoing threw the camp, as the abominations took down the men. He caught sight of his father as he came towards him. He got up moving towards his dad as his father fell forward, pieces of his armor from the back falling down, as his fathers blood ran down. The abominations passing by. Attacking everyone else it seemed. Not seeing the young teen as he held his father on his lap. His father spoke to him weakly, giving him the twisted blade, and cursing the gods jokingly as he closed his eyes. Speaking his last words his hand dropped down. Caraedry stood up.

“Your death wont go unavenged…” Were his words to his father, as he roared picking up the blade swinging upwards as he managed to kill a near by abomination. They turned their attention to him. He stood still keeping the sword before him, as he dodged parried and countered where he could. They were cutting threw his skin, tearing flesh off like butter as fast as he could cleave threw one of them. He fell to his knee’s as he breathed deeply. Starting to pass out.

Falling to a sleep the Abominations seemed to have stopped attacking him, or he just couldn’t feel them anymore, with a lost thought, he dreamt, entering the fade as so many did when they fall into sleep, not conscience about the land around him. Well, so he believed he was sleeping.

“You, desire life, to avenge those who stole from you all you have known. Those who took, and tore away from those you cared for, your pride shattered by the pathetic Maleficar who know not how to control their very gifts. I, offer you a deal mortal. For your life, you bring me into your world, and I will grant you all the power that you ever wished for.”

These words, haunted the back of his subconscious, it was a gift, something that he never heard before, but the twists that tore around him, it wasn’t right.. But he needed to live. He was too young to die, he would regain all he lost one day, or forge a new path. It was all worth it to him, to bring a new path, far from his father, to make a name for himself. To become something more then just a corpse.

Those outside would see something quite different then what was being portrayed, as the beings, the Abominations, were being killed. From what it seemed, by other abominations, which seemed to fall under some sort of sinister command. They seemed to move away from the body as if they were guided to be. Darkness, seemed to be swelling around him, as another presence was there, but could not be seen or heard by anyone else, then this man who was speaking.

“I offer you my body, so long as I maintain, so long as I exist. Do not take from me more then I already have lost…what is your name..” the words were weak, coughing out from him, as though he was dieing. It was true, he was dieing. Bleeding to death, he didn’t want to wake from what he believed to be a dream, he felt so numb, it felt fine. Feeling his body pulse for a moment. He coughed forward.

“You mortal’s and your names, I am now you, as you are me..I will abide by your terms mortal, to experience this world threw your eyes. Remember, your own pride may become your undoing. My name is unimportant…just know that I will teach you how to live.” The echo’s express in his mind as his eyes open up. He rolls over, touching his hand in a pool of blood, of what seemed to have collected in the peddle of a footstep. He cupped it, against his will, he fighting against it he seemed to scream in the back of his mind.
“Fool, drink it, for this will be your beginning to your healing and power. I give you a power that was once given by other beings consumption. All you need, is to consume the dead or living’s blood, you shall heal.” the voice replied to his mind scream. As he took it towards the blood.

“A deal…is a Deal..” he says taking the blood into his mouth, the taste of it was iron like, the taste annoying. Ingesting it he coughed as he felt his wounds seem to slowly close. He moved towards his fathers corpse, moving to take the armor off slowly. With the sound of men rustling threw the bushes he stood up suddenly, taking footing and moving back. He looked threw the darkness, as he saw a massive based eating a corpse of one of the former dead. Taking his fathers swords once more, he failed to notice the dead abominations around him. He stopped when the voice told him not to move any closer.

He fought against the being, telling it that he wanted to save his father. And it merely told him to take the body if need be but to leave this place as fast as he could. Almost on cue the land itself seemed to be decaying and dieing. It was something, a blight maybe?

He took his fathers corpse pulling him up onto his back as he moved forward. Taking steps as he walked and stumbled. Falling off a cliff after awhile of walking, rolling down the mountain side he smashed into the side of the tree catching his fathers corpse with his hand. Falling to rest. He fell asleep. Having an interesting dream, meeting the very being in it. As they talked about what he would do. The spirit, seemed to be taking a form of a female. Though, she was fully clothed and walked across the plains with him as it explained the blight to him. Parts of it, at least. This deal, wasn’t to be so bad. He thought while in the dream.

He awoke to the sound of wolves. As he looked down the path to see his fathers corpse on the ground, the sunlight reflecting off the twisted ground he was on. It was like as is the land itself just died over night. He slid down the path before him. Careful. Stopping at a distance from the wolves, he charged in pulling forth his fathers sword, cleaving one wolf in two with a swing of the blade connecting a punch to the face of another, collapsing it for a moment under the force of the gauntlet might. He moved to his dead father picking up his corpse once more and moved down the road he had fallen on. The wolves would come back. But they weren’t dumb they would wait till the right moment. He pulled the corpse of his dad with him as he stopped for a moment. Placing his father on the side of a tree, he took off his armor. Putting on his fathers armor that was wearable. And taking the chest piece with him in his hand, after sliding his fathers claymore into its seethe and throwing it over his back. He prayed to he gods, clasping his hands together, asking for them to be kind, help his father home. He took a step on the dusted path before him. He would make a name for himself if need be.

For the next 3 years he would be wandering about, fighting the darkspawn in small parties, and taking the blood of the living or dead. Often he’d do it towards the dead side, while people weren’t looking. The being urged him on. Asking him about things as they moved together. It seemed that he resisted a lot. Maintaining his own self control on most things past that one. As he had made a deal. For his existence to still be. No matter what. He managed to gain money from the corpses of the dead, making his own armor from it. And fixing his fathers blade. Though the blade itself seemed to be different over time. He felt that the runes this time weren’t reacting like they use to. Taking in the blood of others may have effected him in some way. Though he still would rather a steak any day.

He breathed out deeply. Hearing news of the fall of the arch demon, and the factor of the greatly lowered darkspawn attacks. He had moved away from many ways of his people, though their teachings were still their, he didn’t want them to see him as he was, nor what he had become over the days.

Personality:

Caraedry, himself, is a somewhat distant man to most people, though he won’t ignore someone. He seems to lack interest in most people. He is seemed as arrogant to some people, while others view him differently based on what he has done. Though he is no hero, he does whatever he believes is needed to be done. And what is right to himself, helping him move forward. In short, the way he acts seems to depend on the person he is with. Otherwise, he acts somewhat politely to people or just doesn’t care. He shows almost no effect about death around him.

He will barely speak about his past to people. He doesn’t think that they could help him. Nor does it matter in his view.

Though he can be severely cynical, sometimes leaving some people alive, even though they are dismembered in some way. Just to let them watch as he consumes their blood. Or he will torture them.

Views:

On Mages: He doesn’t hate or despise mages, even though they were the cause of the death of his entire clan. He views them as another being or person, that just have the ability to control the elements.

(Feel free to give me advise, since i dunno if all is good. While i work on the profile i mean. It would be greatly appreciated =) )

So far so good! It's great to see a male character too, hehe. I'm going to wait on the Biography part before approval. I'm interested in seeing what his "twisted" past happens to be. :]

Thanks for finishing it up and interesting way of bringing the Avvars into the picture. :]

I hate to be nitpicky, but I found some of the biography confusing and I would like to clarify it before I put a green stamp on your application. How did they know they were passing by maleficar? Were they practising blood magic openly? Or were they already abominations? If so, why would the Avvar tribe even consider setting up camp near them, especially if their presence would likely draw the attention of the Templars, who they would wish to avoid as well (due to their healing magic)? Also, why would the abominations stop attacking him? Were they being controlled by the same demon who made a pack with Caraedry? I also don't understand his motivation for joining with a demon when abominations (the result of someone being possessed by a demon) killed his father not moments ago and he swore revenge.

If you could clear up some of this and sort out your biography, I would be happy to approve your application! :]

okay, so i did editing as you stated, though in my own opinion, i believe his reaction, to the demon was quite realistic. Humans value living much more then they realize. And so in that view, his will to want to live is ever present in that form. He may say he wants revenge for his father, but its pretty much only his pride that is talking more then anything else.

Well i'm still open for whatever else if you feel i should change it to match some other form then i will be sure to do so =)

But for now, till you respond to it. I have completed what i think is what was asked of me =D

Thanks for highlighting the updates in a different colour. Made things much easier! :]

I understand your point and agree about the self-preservation. However, the biography and application in general hadn't really stated self-preservation as something he values above all else or at all, until the very end. You did establish that his father was important to him, trained and took care of him and that he was a proud man, though. That's why I had trouble following his decisions and why I felt they didn't make sense for how you had presented his character.

Your additions definitely explained his motivations a lot better, especially if his tribe didn't have prior experience with mages and how their powers can go awry.

APPROVED!
